Note that the unlock client software will work with Windows XP and Vista only

Requirements:

You need a DCU-60 Cable, this is the same cable supplied with your phone and a credit (username & password to log on to the server)

Your PC needs to be connected to the internet.
Download the SonyEricsson DB2020 Unlock Server Software From here to your desktop.  Extract/unzip the folder on your desktop.

To Check CID Level (FREE)

1. Download the latest software - Run db2020client.exe

- Enter user 5555 and password 5555

- Turn off the phone

- Press and hold C button on the phone

- Connect the cable

Preparation:

Make sure your phone connection is set in "Phone Mode"

First of all, turn on your phone with a valid SIM card and go into settings, and USB settings and set the connection mode to "Phone Mode"

Installing Drivers: If you already have installed drivers see: db2020_driver_installation.pdf

1. Switch on the mobile without a SIM card inserted

2. Plug in the USB cable and your computer will find NEW hardware and require drivers.

3. Download your phone drivers from here http://www.phunlock.com/unlock/download/db2020_server/drivers/ (drivers are not malicious and 100% safe)

4. Unzip the driver folder and point Windows to the downloaded & unzipped folder for your drivers.

5. Once all drivers are installed, unplug the USB cable from the mobile

6. Take the battery off the phone and put it back on

7. Press and keep held down the C button on the phone and connect cable, windows will require drivers, as above point Windows to your downloaded (unzipped) driver folder.

Note: W880 users hold 5 and 2 together instead of C
M600/P990/P1 users hold the "@" button on the side of the phone instead of C


8. Unplug the cable, remove and insert the battery back
 

Unlocking Your Phone

Unlock Step 1:

7. Start "db2020client.exe" from the folder with the unzipped client. (of course ensure you have purchased unlock credits before hand )

8. Whilst pressing "C" plug the USB cable into the phone.

Note: W880 users hold 5 and 2 together instead of C
M600/P990/P1 users hold the "@" button on the side of the phone instead of C

9. Mobile authentication starts ..

10. Then you get a screen to choose service choose Unlock Step 1

11. A DVL file is generated and sent directly to the system and then you have to wait for the file to be processed. These files are processed manually during working hours GMT time. So you need to wait before moving onto unlock step 2.

You can check the status of your unlock here by logging in with your username and password then select "History-Phones" from the menu on the left. If it says "IN CALC", then wait until it's ready before proceeding to unlock step 2 below.

There are several status of DB2020 unlocking procedure that show on the server:

VALIDATION - fraud protection policy, a delay for several days

QUEUE - information from the phone is stored for further MAP calculation

IN CALC - MAP file is under calculation

MAP READY - MAP file is calculated, unlock step 2 is available

UNLOCKED - MAP file was written to the phonebr>
The waiting time can vary from 2 hours to 7 business days but usually within a couple of hours during office hours GMT

(Please do not email us asking to speed this up, as we cannot affect the queue speed. Please be patient.  The process of calculating the security map file is detailed and varies for each phone)
 

Unlock Step 2:

12. Start "db2020client.exe" from the folder with the unzipped client.

13. Take battery out of phone and put back, Holding C plug the cable into the mobile

M600/P990/P1 users turn on your phone with a valid SIM card and go into settings, and make sure USB settings are set to phone mode then hold the "@" button on the side of the phone instead of C

14. When you get the services screen, scroll down and in bold red you will see the next step to unlock - press it

15. Then it will tell you to take out the USB cable and switch on the mobile, take the battery off and put it back on then switch it on normally and choose "Normal Mode", then plug in the USB Cable, ignore if it says Incorrect SIM

16. It will continue the process and soon enough your phone will be unlocked :-)

If the process somehow hangs, remove the USB cable, shut down the client. Then turn the phone on (it will have Insert Correct SIM Card message), run "db2020client.exe" again, connect the USB cable to the powered on phone. Select CSCA Activation script from the list of scripts.
